Nutritionist & Body Image Coach
Your relationship with food should not dictate every facet of your life. Unfortunately, for many, it does. I’ve been in your shoes, and I understand the importance of finding nutrition that suits your lifestyle and empowers you to have a healthy, sustainable approach to nutrition.
Hi, I'm Kate Brock, CNS, LDN!
I am a trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, virtual Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist who helps women all over the U.S. heal from disordered eating and body image concerns. I’m committed to helping you break out of the diet cycle and nourish your body without restrictions or complexities.
As a dedicated nutritionist and body image coach, I am passionate about helping women and teens heal their relationship with food and make peace with their bodies. I combine my extensive nutrition knowledge with therapeutic tools to help you achieve sustainable behavioral change that sticks.
My coaching programs and one-on-one counseling teach you how to fuel your body without guilt, fear, or obsession. Through this lens, I also work with women to understand and solve their gut and hormone concerns. I firmly believe that having a healthy relationship with food is foundational — no matter your individual nutrition goals.
I know what it’s like to struggle with mental and physical health. From a young age, I struggled with digestive issues, endometrosis, and mental health challenges. I feared going anywhere because I thought I was either going to get sick or have a panic attack. After years of struggling, I was diagnosed with IBS, asthma, Generalized Anxiety Disorder with depressive symptoms and a multitude of other GI problems. I was told there was nothing they could do for me except give me medicine and send me on my way. The medicines I was prescribed made me feel worse and I felt completely helpless. Was I going to feel like this for the rest of my life? I was living at 50% of my potential because of my sicknesses and felt like there was no hope. I no longer enjoyed my passions and out of desperation for feeling better, I started searching for my own answers. After healing my IBS completely and eliminating a large amount of my anxiety symptoms with nutrition and lifestyle, I decided to change careers and give other people that hope as well.
After being in the nutrition field for a little bit, I developed orthorexia. I was obsessed with everything I put in my body because I was terrified that french fries, a cupcake or anything that wasn’t completely “clean” was going to set off my IBS, anxiety or was going to make me less healthy. 2 years of being obsessive over everything created an entirely new problem and I didn’t know how to get out of. I was constantly thinking about foods that I “shouldn’t” eat and couldn’t even keep ice cream in the house without binging. Slowly, I let go of food rules and allowed myself to eat intuitively. I had already done the work to heal my gut and adding these foods back in that I thought would cause loads of inflammation (thank you diet culture) were tolerated well because I had already done the work to heal my gut and create a nutrient dense diet.
I aim to provide the balance I never had with my clients. I love clinical nutrition and helping people reduce inflammation and increase nutrient density in the diet, but I also recognize that there has to be a balance or the scale will tip and new problems like disordered eating can arise. I myself have achieved this balance and love helping other do the same.
